There are a lot of memories I have of my dad.
But whenever someone asks me what I remember first...
I don't think about holidays.
I don't think about birthdays.
I think about a quiet lake.
Just the two of us.
A fishing boat floating across still water while the sun came up.
My dad loved to fish.
And if I'm being honest...
He was incredibly competitive about it.
Who caught the biggest fish mattered.
Who caught the most fish mattered.
There was always a little friendly competition between us, and I wouldn't trade those moments for anything.
But looking back now...
It wasn't really about the fishing.
It was about the time.
It was the stories we shared.
The laughter.
The silence that never felt awkward.
The conversations that only seem to happen when you're sitting beside someone instead of across from them.
That little boat became a place where life slowed down.
Looking back now, I realize those mornings were the definition of quality time.
My father taught me that the greatest gift we can give someone isn't money...
It isn't possessions...
It's our time.
He taught me to work hard.
To take pride in what I build.
To help people whenever I can.
To build things that last.
But if you asked me what lesson I treasure most...
It would be this.
Be present.
Because one day...
The fish won't matter.
The trophies won't matter.
The boat won't even matter.
The memories will.
Those mornings on the lake shaped the man I became.
Today, every keepsake I build reminds me of those fishing trips.
Because I know firsthand that ordinary moments often become our most treasured memories.
That's why every box I make is more than wood and hardware.
It's a place to protect the moments that one day become priceless.
Thank you, Dad.
The greatest thing you ever built...
Was me.
