There are people who spend a lifetime searching for the meaning of courage.
I was fortunate enough to watch it grow up in my own home.
My youngest son, Donovan, entered this world already facing challenges that most of us could never imagine.
From the very beginning, life asked more of him than it asks of most people.
But before he ever taught me about courage...
He taught me something even greater.
He taught me that miracles are real.
To me, Donovan has always been my miracle.
Not because life has been easy for him.
Not because every obstacle disappeared.
But because every single day he continues to remind me how precious life truly is.
Every smile.
Every laugh.
Every milestone.
Every ordinary moment with him has always felt like an extraordinary gift.
Watching him has changed me in ways I never expected.
He taught me humility.
He taught me that strength isn't measured by how much weight we can carry.
It's measured by our willingness to get back up when life knocks us down.
He has shown me that we don't get to choose every challenge we face.
But we do get to choose how we respond to them.
I've watched him accomplish things that many people thought would be impossible.
Not because life was easy for him...
But because quitting was never part of who he is.
Every obstacle placed in front of him became another opportunity to prove that determination is stronger than fear.
That courage is stronger than doubt.
And that hope is stronger than circumstance.
Because of Donovan, I no longer look at life the same way.
He reminds me every day that tomorrow is never promised.
The conversations we have today...
The hugs we give today...
The laughter we share today...
Those are the moments that truly matter.
We spend so much of our lives waiting for the "big moments."
Donovan taught me that life is actually made up of thousands of little ones.
And one day...
Those little moments become the memories we would give anything to experience just one more time.
Thank you, Donovan.
Thank you for showing me that courage isn't the absence of hardship.
It's choosing hope every single day.
Thank you for reminding me that every ordinary moment is a gift.
And thank you...
For being my miracle.
