When I think about my mom, one lesson stands above all the others.
Stay true to yourself.
It sounds simple.
But I've learned that it's one of the hardest things a person can do.
Throughout my life, my mom reminded me that not everyone will understand me.
Not everyone will agree with my decisions.
Not everyone will like the path I choose.
And that's okay.
She taught me that happiness doesn't come from earning everyone's approval.
It comes from being able to look in the mirror and know you've been honest with yourself.
She encouraged me to be unapologetically me.
To chase the things I believed in.
To stand for what I thought was right, even if I stood alone.
Looking back, I realize she gave me something far more valuable than advice.
She gave me confidence.
Confidence to build.
Confidence to dream.
Confidence to create Mason's Memories exactly the way I believed it should be.
There will always be people who don't understand why someone would preserve an old photograph, a worn fishing lure, a child's drawing, or a faded collar.
But there are also people who understand that those things aren't just objects.
They're pieces of someone's heart.
My mom taught me that I don't have to convince everyone.
I only have to stay true to who I am.
That lesson has shaped every decision I've made.
And every keepsake I build carries a little piece of it.
Thank you, Mom.
Because of you, I learned that the greatest thing a person can be...
is themselves.
